It's a great example of how to fix up an old building without keeping the old problems.

Smíchov is where you stay when you're tired of overpaying for mediocre coffee in the Old Town. This district used to be all factories and smoke. Now it's a sharp mix of offices and local life. If your legs are tired, use the Arbesovo Náměstí tram stop nearby. It'll zip you to the Castle or Wenceslas Square in minutes.

The best thing about this spot is Petřín Hill. It's right across the street. Think of it as the city's lungs. All those trees soak up the noise and the exhaust. If you grab a park-facing room, you'll wake up to the sound of birds instead of trams. Start your walk in the Kinsky Garden. It's much quieter than the paths starting in Malá Strana. You can follow the old 14th-century Hunger Wall all the way up. Once you hit the top, climb the Petřín Lookout Tower for a view of the whole city. Don't miss the Mirror Maze or the rose gardens if you've got time to kill.

You'll get a solid breakfast buffet at the hotel, but don't eat every meal there. Prague 5 has some of the best coffee in the city. Walk to Café Lounge or hit up EMA Espresso Bar for a proper caffeine fix. When the sun goes down, you've got options. You could head to a classic spot like U Fleků for a dark lager. Or keep it local at Lokál. If you want something fancier, walk toward the river. Kampa Park has tables right on the water with views of the Vltava. You can find everything from hearty local cuisine to health-conscious plant-based menus nearby. Skip the stuffy hotel dining room and get out there.
