The building at Jakubská 649/8 is a 1916 beauty. It sits inside the protected Staré Město district. That makes it part of a UNESCO site. Turning this place into a high-end haunt wasn't easy. It took a 14-million-euro overhaul in 2008 to pull it off. They worked with local authorities to keep it legit. They used special DELTABEAM® composite floor structures to keep the building stable without ruining the original ceiling stucco. Inside, the look is all red and gold accents against dark Macassar wood. It feels private. Isolated. Like a secret you're in on. Or a movie set. The glass lamps cast long shadows across the room. You’ll forget the crowds outside within seconds. It's a complete break from the historic streets just outside the door.

Raymond Vișan started this whole thing in Paris. He called it "eatertainment." The idea is simple. Eating should be theater. This was the first time the Buddha-Bar Hotel Prague turned that vibe into a 24-hour stay. Sound is everything here. You’ll hear live DJs spinning lounge and world music throughout the day. It’s the same chill-out pulse found on their famous compilation albums. The music is baked into the hotel's DNA. The scent is just as deliberate. You’ll smell the signature incense the moment you walk in. It’s thick and sweet. It follows you into the elevators and down the halls. You can even control the music in your own room to match the mood. It’s a full sensory takeover.

You have two main choices for food here. Siddharta Café is the street-level spot. It’s where you’ll find Euro-Asian fusion and a solid breakfast buffet. On Sundays, they do a big brunch that locals actually show up for. There's even a spot for kids to hang out so you can eat in peace. But the real show is downstairs. Descend into the subterranean Buddha-Bar and things get moody. A massive metallic Buddha stares you down while you eat sushi in a decadent room. The chandeliers are huge. The cocktails are strange and strong. After 21:00, the DJ kicks in and the volume goes up. It’s a primary destination for the city's nocturnal elite. The food downstairs is a mix of sushi and Pacific Rim flavors.

The party stays downstairs. With only 38 rooms, the hotel feels intimate and quiet. You'll walk through dark, incense-heavy corridors with floor-lit onyx panels to find your door. Inside, the rooms are sanctuaries. They use a mix of deep red silk and black lacquer with gold accents. The beds are huge. But the bathroom is the winner. Every room has a big standalone tub with a red dragon-mosaic. It's ridiculous in the best way. You get Bang & Olufsen tech and Nespresso pods too. Hit the Spa Suite to reset.
